photography of horses and their people. . .
My love of photography came from watching my Dad and his camera as a child. That grew in my teens to a fascination with news photography, and was first published locally at age 16. Things moved quickly from there: Front page of the B section in the New York Times at 17; Several awards for photos showing the effects of pollution; Freelancing for United Press International covering several urban riots of the 1970-1972 period; and my favorite, an interview with Life Magazine. A computer career then got in the way.

When my daughter began riding, it was a natural pull for me back to photography, It was the late 90's and film was quickly becoming obsolete. As a family we formed 'imaginequus-david adams photography LLC' in New Jersey. Starting with scanned film, we grew quickly to one of the first fully digital equine event photography services offering on-site PC viewing and ordering of events minutes after the completion of each event. For several years imaginequus provided exclusive onsite photography for the New Jersey Palomino Exhibitors, the New Jersey Quarter Horse Association, and our great friends at the New Jersey Half Arabian Horse Association. New Jersey Thoroughbred Breeders and several breeders were regular clients. Due to the economy, imaginequus was closed in 2008.

And now we return based in Maryland, and will be providing barn calls - full day visits to your facility where we can spend time with everyone interested, creating a true representation of the relationship of your horse and you.

We look forward to seeing you!
